Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
Beyond any fence or hedge defining the boundary of the course.
Beyond the white posts on the 1st, 6th, 7th and 9th holes on or beyond the roads at the 3rd, 5th, 12th and 15th holes on or beyond the white post or tree logs to the left of the 13th hole on the church course or beyond the white posts on the 4th hole (Village).
Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
Penalty Areas are defined by red stakes. For the red penalty areas beside/behind greens at the 9th, 17th and 18th holes (Church) and the 3rd and 7th (Village), a player may proceed under Rule 17.1d, or as an extra relief option adding one penalty stroke, a player may drop a ball in the adjacent dropping zone. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3 No Play Zones
All areas marked as Ground Under Repair are No Play Zones. Free relief must be taken from any interference by the No Play Zone, under Rule 16.1f
Immovable Obstructions (Rule 16)
All artificially surfaced roads and paths are immovable obstructions from which free relief is permitted under Rule 16.1b. All other paths are integral parts of the course.
Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Greens
In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.
Vehicle Tyre Ruts
Ruts made by vehicle tyres are Ground Under Repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b. This does not apply to light indentations made by course vehicles or trolleys.
Aeration Holes
If a player’s ball lies in or touches an aeration hole they may proceed as follows:
Ball in General Area: The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. If the ball comes to rest in another aeration hole the player may take relief again. Ball on Putting Green: The player may take relief under Rule 16.1d
But interference does not exist if the aeration hole only interferes with the player’s stance or, on the putting green, on the player’s line of play.
Penalty for Breach of Local Rules:
General Penalty (Match Play: Loss of Hole; Stroke Play: 2 Strokes)
